When does HB 2918 go into effect?
HB 2918 was passed by the Oregon legislature in 2007. The law took effect on January 1, 2008 for new individual and group health insurance policies and, for renewal policies, the first renewal date after January 1, 2008. Please contact your insurance company to determine the effective date in your plan.
HB 2918 Expands the Definition of Pervasive Developmental Disorders
"Pervasive developmental disorder means a neurological condition that includes Asperger's syndrome, autism, developmental delay, developmental disability or mental retardation."
Health Resources Commission
HB 2918 instructs the Health Resources Commission (HRC) to conduct a review of available medical and behavioral health evidence on the treatment of pervasive developmental disorders. The HRC will then report its findings to the 75th legislative session in 2009.
